Wappr, explained.
Wappr collects app wishes off Twitter, makes them votable, and then creates a popularity list from it.
Submit your app wish.
You can easily submit your app wish by starting your tweet with these following phrases:
- “I wish there was an app ...”
- “I need an app to ...”
- “I want an app that ...”
Optionally, you can specify the platform of your app wish by using hashtag (e.g: #iphone, #web, #android).
Within 24 hours, your app wish should appear on Wappr.
How to vote.
To vote for others' app wishes, sign in to Wappr with your Twitter account using the button on the top right of the page. Twitter will then ask you the permission to provide access for Wappr. Upon granting the permission, you will be redirected back to Wappr and ready to start voting.
Click on the 'Vote this!' button on the left side of each tweet to vote.
Some technicalities.
Wappr is built on Ruby on Rails, using Ruby Twitter Gem, and hosted on Heroku. Twitter authorization is handled using OAuth, which allows authorization without sharing password. Website design is based on Blueprint CSS Framework.
